MRSS Guide

Creating MRSS Feeds

MRSS feeds are personalised to the logged in user. A user may create a MRSS Feed in three ways:

  1. Click on the user avatar in the top right of the page, and choose > Your Account. One of the panels will include, if the user has the right to do so, ‘Your MRSS feeds’. A new feed can be generated by clicking the + sign here. If a user has already saved a search that corresponds to the feed they wish to create, they can choose that search.

  2. Click on the user avatar in the top right of the page, and choose > Your Account. One of the panels will include, if the user has the right to do so, ‘Your MRSS feeds’. A new feed can be generated by clicking the + sign here. Searches can be added using the search syntax as described above.

  3. Click in the main search box and select ‘Manage’ to access saved searches. The dialogue box that appears allows each search to be converted to a MRSS Feed via the three dot menu to the right of each saved search.

Once generated, each feed has its own specific URL which can be copied and added to feed readers or utilised to allow the search to feature on a webpage of its own.  Feeds can also be automatically parsed to allow automatic downloads of new files where access permits.

Amending

To amend existing MRSS feeds, click on the user avatar in the top right of any page, and choose >  Your Account.

In the MRSS panel, click the burger menu to the right of the feed you wish to change and then select Update MRSS feed.  Users can choose to update the search query itself or the sorting basis in the dropdown at the bottom of the dialogue box.

Deleting

To delete existing MRSS feeds, click on the user avatar in the top right of any page, and choose >  Your Account.

In the MRSS panel, click the burger menu to the right of the feed you wish to remove and then select Delete MRSS feed.
